EGR

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is an important function for reducing NO_x emissions. By recycling gas from the exhaust system to the intake manifold the combustion temperature is reduced out of the range where NO_x is produced.

To maximise the reduction in emissions whilst minimising any loss in performance both long loop/LP (exhaust returned from downstream of the DPF) and short loop/HP (exhaust returned from downstream of the exhaust manifold) can be implemented using Helical’s integrated EGR cooler system and exhaust back pressure control valve.
